A black plastic rope cleat rests on a pile of coiled white braided rope, reminiscent of the precise design found in a Spyderblade electrosurgical instrument, against a plain white background.

The Project

KNUCKL is a lightweight rope gripper device designed to fit comfortably in the hand to increase grip and reduce fatigue when hauling or holding ropes for outdoor professionals.

Design

UW produced many prototypes with increasing fidelity to allow for real world testing and feedback. These prototypes also incorporated injection molding techniques to ensure the final manufactured solution still retained the functionality of the original design.
